Kien Yip brings empathy and neutrality to the mediation table, creating a safe space where all parties feel genuinely heard. Without a legal background, he is free from rigid frameworks and adversarial mindsets—allowing him to focus on what truly matters; helping parties understand each other, identify common interests, and moves towards meaningful, mutually acceptable resolutions. His strength lies in guiding conversations away from positional deadlocks and toward solutions that preserve relationships and dignity.
Kien Yip’s early career in Research & Development and Applied Research sharpened his analytical thinking and systems-based approach to problem-solving—skills that continue to serve him well in understanding the dynamics of complex disputes. Later, as a media business owner of almost 3 decades, Kien Yip gained deep exposure to human behaviour, negotiation, and the realities of running and managing teams, projects, and client relationships across diverse industries. These experiences have shaped his ability to navigate both technical and interpersonal challenges with clarity, creativity, and empathy—qualities he brings into every mediation room, as well as training executives and staff in conflict management.
